UN World Water Day on 22 March 2020

UN World Water Day, which is annually convened on 22 March, highlights current water themes. Main topics are a decrease of water pollution as well as a reduction of fresh water consumption. The motto of this year’s World Water Day is “Water and Climate Change”. UN-Water proclaims:

  • Water can help fight climate change!
  • Everyone has a role to play!
  • We cannot afford to wait!

Saving Water and Energy

Conventional textile finishing processes have great water saving potential. Special low add-on techniques and minimum liquor applications based on rotary atomizers or alternative methods for contact-free spray application help to reduce the water consumption. At the same time low add-on applications decrease the energy demand for drying. Not only the application of modern technology and engineering but also the optimization of recipes and processes, such as single-bath methods or the application of multifunctional textile auxiliaries, help saving water. Beyond that, less water consumption helps to save energy, because steam consumption and energy demand for heating are also reduced.

Process Optimization and Water Conservation

Our experienced textile and application engineers are looking forward to giving you competent advice concerning process optimization and water conservation in textile finishing. Furthermore, Textilchemie Dr. Petry offers many sustainable, eco-friendly textile auxiliaries which can help to optimize your processes and to reduce the wastewater load in your textile finishing mill. These modern products which are certified according to various environmental standards can replace currently used, conventional auxiliaries.
