Sustainable Textile Industry: “Sustainability at Techtextil”
Sustainability is the leitmotiv of Textilchemie Dr. Petry GmbH. The international expert committee directed by Max Gilgenmann, Technical Director and Sustainability Consultant at Messe Frankfurt GmbH, assessed our company as well as our product range and services as sustainable. We are pleased that we can attend this year’s exhibition program “Sustainability at Techtextil” together with other exhibitors.
Textilchemie Dr. Petry GmbH Acts Sustainably
Our chemists and engineers are constantly working on new eco-friendly, sustainable textile auxiliaries, elaborating lean water-, energy-, and time-saving processes and offering environmental consulting services to our customers. For our innovative products we preferably use substances from renewable resources. These products are manufactured in modern, energy-efficient up-to-date facilities. About 30 % of our company’s energy consumption is currently covered by our own photovoltaic plant. In our chemical production facilities cooling water is recycled and reused. Beyond this, we are promoting sustainability in the whole textile industry. This is the reason why we support our international customers to improve their processes and recipes, and to implement more environmentally friendly methods. Environmental consulting is an important part of our service range.
Certified, Sustainable Textile Auxiliaries at Techtextil 2019
Within the program “Sustainability at Techtextil” we will present at this year’s exhibition from 14 to 17 May 2019 sustainable solutions for the textile finishing industry. We will introduce some of our remarkable, eco-friendly products, such as PERIFOAM BAO, our defoamer based on natural, vegetable raw materials, or PERIXEN FDA, an environmentally friendly, fully biodegradable sewing thread lubricant. Furthermore, we will inform interested visitors about sustainable process solutions for textile finishing, such as modern low-temperature processes and low-add-on applications.
Our company is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001, a quality management standard, as well as according to DIN EN ISO 14001, an environmental management standard. In 2017 we were the first German producer of textile auxiliaries to join the ZDHC initiative as value chain affiliate member. Furthermore, many of our products are certified according to various ecolabels, such as GOTS, bluesign® or Cradle to Cradle.
