Level Dyeing Usually Requires Slow Heating
In polyester dyeing the liquor is usually heated-up as slow as possible in order to achieve a constant absorption of the disperse dyes and a level dyeing of the goods. Normally, PES is dyed with low heating rates of 2 to 3 °C per minute up to a temperature of 80 °C and only 1 °C per minute until the HT dyeing temperature is reached. If you use our special levelling agent PERIGEN E-PES in the rapid dyeing method you can heat up with rates of up to 5 °C/min and thus reduce the duration of the entire dyeing process.
PERIGEN E-PES for the Rapid Dyeing Method
PERIGEN E-PES is a highly effective levelling agent specifically developed for the rapid dyeing of polyester. This dyeing auxiliary supports the migration of the dyestuff into the fiber but does not contain any environmentally hazardous aromatic carriers which would reduce the dyeing temperature due to fiber swelling. In the HT dyeing range at 130 °C the product has a levelling effect, but no negative influence on the color yield. Only during the heating phase, PERIGEN E-PES shows a retarding effect, which causes a decelerated exhaustion of the disperse dyestuff onto the polyester fibers. As a result, even at elevated heating rates of up to 5 °C/min, the dyes can exhaust evenly onto the goods.
Reduced Dye Affinity in the Heating-Up Phase
The levelling capacity of PERIGEN E-PES is based on the reduction of the affinity of the disperse dyes during the heating phase. The dyestuff exhaustion is shifted to higher temperatures. In trichromatic dyeing the affinity differences of the dyestuffs with different chemical constitution can be compensated. This way you can achieve very level and highly reproducible dyeing results. Due to the higher heating rates in the LEAN process you can significantly reduce the time and energy consumption during PES dyeing.
