PERLAVIN LMO: Sustainable Detergent with High Washing Power

PERLAVIN LMO is an environmentally friendly, sustainable detergent based on natural soaps with additional fiber-protective components. The ecological product is characterized by its good washing power and cleansing effect, high wetting force, excellent emulsifying capacity for oils and fats and outstanding dispersing properties. Thus, it can be also used as dispersant in alkaline dyeing liquors in order to prevent precipitations, coagulations or flocculations. Furthermore, PERLAVIN LMO is an excellent textile auxiliary for silk scouring.

Application as Ecological Detergent in Textile Pretreatment

The ingredients of PERLAVIN LMO are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Due to its excellent washing, wetting and dispersing capacity the product can be also used as ecological detergent for washing and pretreating textiles made of all kinds of fibers. PERLAVIN LMO is the optimum choice when natural components as well as highest fiber protection are required.

High mechanical action during finishing and washing processes can cause the formation of foam. In such cases we suggest the addition of PERIFOAM BAO, an eco-friendly defoaming agent free from mineral and silicone oils.

Boiling, Scouring or Degumming of Raw Silk

Grège, the raw silk thread, contains silk gum synonymous with sericin. This sericin serves the silk worms to agglutinate the silk filaments of their cocoons and causes the yellowish color of raw silk. Raw silk contains 70 to 80 % silk filaments and 20 to 30 % silk gum. The degumming process, which is also called silk boiling or scouring, removes the sericin from the silk fiber. Boiling of the gum results in a weight loss of the silk fabrics or yarns of up to 30 %. Furthermore, it leads to white silk with soft, smooth handle and silky luster.

Application of PERLAVIN LMO as Degumming Agent for Silk

PERLAVIN LMO is an excellent degumming agent for raw silk. The product rapidly penetrates the silk gum and causes a quick, even removal of the sericin. Thereby it is characterized – due to the natural ingredients and fiber protective components – by best cleaning power in a mild, gentle, and fiber-preserving treatment. Silk degummed with PERLAVIN LMO keeps its tear resistance and obtains an attractive luster. After degumming the silk becomes very absorbent and is optimally pretreated for the following dyeing or printing processes. Furthermore, PERLAVIN LMO has a stabilizing effect to peroxide. In combination with degumming, a peroxide bleaching can be carried out.
