Basic treatment for antifelt finish of wool with subsequent polymer finishing.
The antifelt finish can be done prior to as well as after dyeing in all processing stages (loose stock, combed sliver, yarn, piece good). Preferably the finishing is done prior to the dyeing process to protect the fabrics against felting.
PERISTAL WAF is used for the antifelt finish of woollen goods.
The product is an oxidizing agent, which degrades the scale structure of the wool surface. Thus the felting behaviour is reduced significantly.
Compared to chlorinated wool a finish with PERISTAL WAF in combination with polymers offers the following advantages:
-very even effects
-handle of the fabric is not impaired
-only slight influence on dye absorption of the wool
-no yellowing of the wool
-no contamination of waste water by organic halogens (AOX)
-nearly odourless
Woollen fabrics which are treated with PERISTAL WAF and finished with an effective antifelt polymer after dyeing are machine-washable.
The application of PERISTAL WAF on undyed wool results in brighter colours at the subsequent dyeing. The shade of already dyed woollen articles is brightened up only slightly.
