PERISTAL PSL

PERISTAL PSL is a stabilizer for peroxide bleaching. The product is not surface active and, therefore, free of foam. PERISTAL PSL can be used in the hot bleach as well as in the cold pad batch bleach. It stabilizes alkaline bleaching liquors at temperatures below 100 °C and at HT conditions. PERISTAL PSL is highly resistant against alkali and can be added to highly concentrated alkali. PERISTAL PSL is free of silicate and does not cause deposits. Fabrics bleached by application of PERISTAL PSL have a good absorbency. Due to the complexing effect of PERISTAL PSL fibre accompanying substances such as calcium and magnesium pectins and other earth alkali compounds can easily be dissolved. In addition to the stabilising properties necessary for a good bleaching effect PERISTAL PSL also has an excellent sequestering capacity for heavy metal ions. PERISTAL PSL protects from catalytic damage when heavy metals in ionic form are present. However, it does not protect when metallic contaminations are present. In this case we recommend a pretreatment with acid.
