PERISTAL GAE conc. allows for an easy control and setting of the pH value. The product is used for dyeing of polyamide and wool. Depending on the individual substrate, the quantity used and dyeing procedure, a final pH value of 3.5 – 4.0 is obtained when using PERISTAL GAE conc.
PERISTAL GAE conc. is applicable for dyeing with acid, 1:2-metal-complex and chrome dyestuffs. For 1:1-metal-complex dyestuffs which are dyed at pH 1.8 – 2.2, PERISTAL GAE conc. is not recommended.
PERISTAL GAE conc. is an ester which in the aqueous medium is slowly saponified. Saponification takes place during the dyeing process when raising temperature and during boiling. Due to the acid which is set free the pH value is displaced in direction of increasing acidity. This increases the dyeing speed.
By means of pH control and slowly decreasing pH value levelled dyeings can be obtained. If at the same time a suitable levelling agent is added to the dyeing bath (for example PERIGEN SMG, PERIGEN MKL, etc.) best results can be obtained.
