PERIQUEST DS d.c. can be used in a wide variety of applications which need high soil suspension capacity and detergency, for example in washing and scouring of cotton articles, in dyeing cotton with reactive dyes and in soaping of reactive, vat, and sulphur dyes.
PERIQUEST DS d.c. prevents agglomerations of dyes caused by hard water or salt additions. It also increases dye yield and improves reproducibility of dyeings.
PERIQUEST DS d.c. is used as a stabilizer for bleaching with peroxide. High degrees of whiteness can be obtained and the removing of cotton accompanying substances is improved.
PERIQUEST DS d.c. is an excellent dispersing agent. It increases the detergency and the capacity of baths to keep removed soil in dispersion. This is of particular significance for short bath ratio systems. The dispersing effect serves to displace and keep in solution fibre accompanying substances, preparations and unfixed dyes.
PERIQUEST DS d.c. is also an excellent stabilizer for peroxide bleaching. The product can be used in the hot bleaching as well as in the cold pad batch bleaching. Due to its alkali resistance it can be added to highly concentrated alkali.
PERIQUEST DS d.c. has a capacity of binding calcium at pH 12 of 120 mg calcium per g PERIQUEST DS d.c., determined with the boiling method. The capacity of binding iron at pH 12 is 1000 mg iron (III) per g PERIQUEST DS d.c.
The product is free of silicate and does not cause deposits. Due to the complexing effect of PERIQUEST DS d.c. fibre accompanying substances such as calcium and magnesium pectins and other earth alkali compounds can easily be dissolved. Despite its complexing components, PERIQUEST DS d.c. does not affect dyeing processes using metal containing dyes.
The product protects from catalytic damage when heavy metals in ionic form are present. However, it does not protect when metallic contaminations are present. In this case we recommend a pretreatment with acid.
