Fluorocarbon free water repellent for cellulosics and blends thereof
PERIGUARD WRC is used for the water repellent finishing of cellulosic and synthetic fibres. The product can be applied solely or in combination with fluorocarbons.
To avoid a negative influence of the water and oil repellent effects the following factors must be taken into account when finishing textiles:
-no residual alkali on the fabric
-free of surface-active substances (for example residual surfactants)
-good pretreatment of the fabric (complete removal of sizes, lubricants, preparations)
PERIGUARD WRC is a fluorocarbon free water repellent for the hydrophobic, rainproof finishing mainly for cellulosic fibres and their blends with synthetic fibres.
In combination with fluorocarbons PERIGUARD WRC acts as extender and improves the wash resistance of the water repellent effects. The product does not affect the oleophobic properties of fluorocarbon finishings.
Finishings with PERIGUARD WRC have a good wash resistance. Irrespective if the product is used solely or in combination with fluorocarbon an ironing process after washing is recommended to restore the maximum hydrophobic properties.
By the addition of PERIGUARD EXT NEW frequently not only the wash resistance but also the Laundry-Air-Dry effect (washing without subsequent ironing) can be further improved.
Due to its very low yellowing tendency PERIGUARD WRC is suitable for white fabrics.
