Crosslinker for polymer binders applied in coating and pigment printing
PERICOAT CROSSLINKER CD can be added to coating and pigment printing pastes. Due to the addition of PERICOAT CROSSLINKER CD the adhesion and scratch resistance of coatings can be improved as well as the wash- and rubbing fastnesses of pigment prints.
PERICOAT CROSSLINKER CD is particularly suitable when formaldehyde-free coatings or printings or low curing temperature are required.
PERICOAT CROSSLINKER CD is a formaldehyde-free, non-toxic crosslinking agent for waterborne polymer dispersions based on a multifunctional carbodiimide. The product shows a good reactivity with carboxyl groups.
PERICOAT CROSSLINKER CD already crosslinks at low temperature (even at room temperature). It has to be noticed that due to lower crosslinking temperature the crosslinking speed is reduced. Thus it can take 3 – 7 days until the crosslinking is totally completed.
The product is characterized by its extra long pot life. Formulations containing PERICOAT CROSSLINKER CD have a pot life up to some weeks.
